A Medium Resolution Near-Infrared Spectral Atlas of O and Early B Stars
M. M. Hanson, R. -P. Kudritzki, M. A. Kenworthy +2
We present intermediate resolution (R ~ 8,000 - 12,000) high signal-to-noise H- and K-band spectroscopy of a sample of 37 optically visible stars, ranging in spectral type from O3…
VLT K-band spectroscopy of massive stars deeply embedded in IRAS sources with UCHII colours
A. Bik, L. Kaper, M. M. Hanson +1
We have obtained high resolution (R = 10,000) K-band spectra of candidate young massive stars deeply embedded in (ultra-) compact HII regions (UCHIIs). In these clusters, three typ…
Detection of Near-IR CO Absorption Bands in R Coronae Borealis Stars
Emily D. Tenenbaum, Geoffrey C. Clayton, Martin Asplund +8
R Coronae Borealis (RCB) stars are hydrogen-deficient, carbon-rich pulsating post-AGB stars that experience massive irregular declines in brightness caused by circumstellar dust fo…
A Study of Cyg OB2: Pointing the Way Towards Finding Our Galaxy's Super Star Clusters
M. M. Hanson
New optical MK classification spectra have been obtained for 14 OB star candidates identified by Comeron et al. (2002) and presumed to be possible members of the Cyg OB2 cluster. A…
