A census of metals and baryons in stars in the local Universe
Anna Gallazzi, Jarle Brinchmann, Stephane Charlot +1
We combine stellar metallicity and stellar mass estimates for a large sample of galaxies drawn from the SDSS DR2 spanning wide ranges in physical properties, in order to derive an…
The Fifth Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
Jennifer K. Adelman-McCarthy
This paper describes the Fifth Data Release (DR5) of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). DR5 includes all survey quality data taken through June 2005 and represents the completion…
The host galaxies of radio-loud AGN: mass dependencies, gas cooling and AGN feedback
P. N. Best, G. Kauffmann, T. M. Heckman +4
The properties of the host galaxies of a well-defined sample of 2215 radio-loud AGN with redshifts 0.03 < z < 0.3, defined from the SDSS, are investigated. These are predominantly…
The First Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
The SDSS collaboration, Kevork Abazajian
The Sloan Digital Sky Survey has validated and made publicly available its First Data Release. This consists of 2099 square degrees of five-band (u, g, r, i, z) imaging data, 186,2…
