Fast carrier dynamics in GaAs photonic crystals near the material band edge at room temperature
Ranojoy Bose, Jason S. Pelc, Charles M. Santori +2
We measure fast carrier decay rates (6 ps) in GaAs photonic crystal cavities with resonances near the GaAs bandgap energy at room temperature using a pump-probe measurement. Carrie…
Experimental Passive Decoy-State Quantum Key Distribution
Qi-Chao Sun, Wei-Long Wang, Yang Liu +8
The decoy-state method is widely used in practical quantum key distribution systems to replace ideal single photon sources with realistic light sources by varying intensities. Inst…
Nonlinear interaction between two heralded single photons
T. Guerreiro, A. Martin, B. Sanguinetti +7
Harnessing nonlinearities strong enough to allow two single photons to interact with one another is not only a fascinating challenge but is central to numerous advanced application…
Quantum noise in large-scale coherent nonlinear photonic circuits
Charles Santori, Jason S. Pelc, Raymond G. Beausoleil +3
A semiclassical simulation approach is presented for studying quantum noise in large-scale photonic circuits incorporating an ideal Kerr nonlinearity. A circuit solver is used to g…
