Discovery of a redshift 6.13 quasar in the UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey
D. J. Mortlock, M. Patel, S. J. Warren +10
Optical and near-infrared (NIR) spectra are presented for ULAS J131911.29+095951.4 (hereafter ULAS J1319+0950), a new redshift z = 6.127 +/- 0.004 quasar discovered in the Third Da…
The colour-magnitude relations of ClJ1226.9+3332, a massive cluster of galaxies at z=0.89
S. C. Ellis, L. R. Jones, D. Donovan +2
(Abridged) The colour-magnitude relations of one of the most massive, high redshift clusters of galaxies known have been studied. Photometry has been measured in the V, R, I, z, F6…
The K band galaxy luminosity functions of three massive high redshift clusters of galaxies
S. C. Ellis, L. R. Jones
K band observations of the galaxy populations of three high redshift (z=0.8-1.0), X-ray selected, massive clusters are presented. The observations reach a depth of K=21.5, correspo…
A reanalysis of the luminosities of clusters of galaxies in the EMSS sample with 0.3 < z < 0.6
S. C. Ellis, L. R. Jones
The X-ray luminosities of the Einstein Extended Medium Sensitivity Survey (EMSS) clusters of galaxies with redshifts 0.3<z<0.6 are remeasured using ROSAT PSPC data. It is found tha…
