Roadmap for Optical Tweezers
Giovanni Volpe, Onofrio M. Maragò, Halina Rubinzstein-Dunlop +80
Optical tweezers are tools made of light that enable contactless pushing, trapping, and manipulation of objects ranging from atoms to space light sails. Since the pioneering work b…
Tutorial on the analytical calculation of optical forces on spherical particles in optical tweezers
Antonio Alvaro Ranha Neves, Carlos Lenz Cesar
Arthur Ashkin was awarded the 2018 Nobel prize in physics for the invention of optical tweezers. Since the first publication in 1986 Optical Tweezers have been used as a tool to me…
Electromagnetic forces for an arbitrary optical trapping of a spherical dielectric
Antonio Alvaro Ranha Neves, Adriana Fontes, Liliana de Ysasa Pozzo +5
Analytical solution for optical trapping force on a spherical dielectric particle for an arbitrary positioned focused beam is presented in a generalized Lorenz-Mie and vectorial di…
Exact Partial Wave Expansion of Optical Beams with Respect to an Arbitrary Origin
Antonio Alvaro Ranha Neves, Adriana Fontes, Lazaro Aurelio Padilha +4
Using an analytical expression for an integral involving Bessel and Legendre functions we succeeded to obtain the partial wave decomposition of a general optical beam at an arbitra…
