Metal Enrichment by the First Stars Exploding at the Lower Energy Limit of Pair-Instability Supernovae
Aron Kordt, Simon C. O. Glover, Ralf S. Klessen
The first generation of stars, Population III (Pop III), is believed to be massive, with some potentially having masses in the range 140 M to 270 M and capable of e…
ANDES, the high resolution spectrograph for the ELT: science goals, project overview and future developments
A. Marconi, M. Abreu, V. Adibekyan +286
The first generation of ELT instruments includes an optical-infrared high-resolution spectrograph, indicated as ELT-HIRES and recently christened ANDES (ArmazoNes high Dispersion E…
The detection and characterization of highly magnified stars with JWST: Prospects of finding Population III
Erik Zackrisson, Adam Hultquist, Aron Kordt +10
Gravitational lensing may render individual high-mass stars detectable out to cosmological distances, and several extremely magnified stars have in recent years been detected out t…
Galaxy Formation and Symbiotic Evolution with the Inter-Galactic Medium in the Age of ELT-ANDES
Valentina D'Odorico, James S. Bolton, Lise Christensen +21
High-resolution absorption spectroscopy toward bright background sources has had a paramount role in understanding early galaxy formation, the evolution of the intergalactic medium…
