Tight Entropic Uncertainty Relations
Alberto Riccardi, Lorenzo Maccone
Entropic uncertainty relations give a nonzero lower bound to the sum of the Shannon entropies of the outcome probabilities of incompatible observable…
First-Click Time Measurements
Mafalda Pinto Couto, Lorenzo Maccone, Lorenzo Catani +1
There are two distinct perspectives on the quantum time-of-arrival: one can ask for the probability that a particle is found at the detector at a given time, regardless of whether…
Gaussian beam quantum radar protocol
Lorenzo Maccone, Yi Zheng, Changliang Ren
We present an entangled quantum radar protocol. It consists in scanning the sky with a thin Gaussian beam and measuring the travel time of the radiation reflected from the target,…
Entropic information-disturbance tradeoff
Lorenzo Maccone
We show the flaws found in the customary fidelity-based definitions of disturbance in quantum measurements and evolutions. We introduce the "entropic disturbance" D and show that i…
Homodyne tomography and the reconstruction of quantum states of light
G. M. D'Ariano, L. Maccone, M. F. Sacchi
Quantum tomography is a procedure to determine the quantum state of a physical system, or equivalently, to estimate the expectation value of any operator. It consists in appropriat…
