The velocity field of our Milky Way outer stellar halo based on DESI DR2
Songting Li, Wenting Wang, Sergey E. Koposov +53
Using 64,000 halo K giants from Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) second Data Release (DR2), we decompose the Milky Way (MW) stellar halo between 3 and 160 kpc into metal…
The Tully-Fisher Relation and Its Residuals for a Broadly Selected Sample of Galaxies
James Pizagno, Francisco Prada, David H. Weinberg +7
We measure the relation between galaxy luminosity and disk circular velocity (the Tully-Fisher [TF] relation), in the g, r, i, and z-bands, for a broadly selected sample of galaxie…
Dark Matter Halos of Disk Galaxies: Constraints from the Tully-Fisher Relation
Oleg Y. Gnedin, David H. Weinberg, James Pizagno +2
We investigate structural properties of dark matter halos of disk galaxies in LCDM cosmology, using a well-defined sample of 81 disk-dominated galaxies from the SDSS redshift surve…
A Survey for Large Separation Lensed FIRST Quasars, II. Magnification Bias and Redshift Distribution
Eran O. Ofek, Hans-Walter Rix, Dan Maoz +1
The statistics of large-separation gravitational lensing are a powerful tool to probe mass distributions on the scale of galaxy clusters. In this paper we refine the analysis of ou…
