A Dark Energy Camera Search for an Optical Counterpart to the First Advanced LIGO Gravitational Wave Event GW150914
M. Soares-Santos, R. Kessler, E. Berger +112
We report initial results of a deep search for an optical counterpart to the gravitational wave event GW150914, the first trigger from the Advanced LIGO gravitational wave detector…
The Dark Energy Survey: more than dark energy - an overview
Dark Energy Survey Collaboration, T. Abbott, F. B. Abdalla +138
This overview article describes the legacy prospect and discovery potential of the Dark Energy Survey (DES) beyond cosmological studies, illustrating it with examples from the DES…
Combining Dark Energy Survey Science Verification Data with Near Infrared Data from the ESO VISTA Hemisphere Survey
Manda Banerji, S. Jouvel, H. Lin +74
We present the combination of optical data from the Science Verification phase of the Dark Energy Survey (DES) with near infrared data from the ESO VISTA Hemisphere Survey (VHS). T…
