Depleted Galaxy Cores and Dynamical Black Hole Masses
S. P. Rusli, P. Erwin, R. P. Saglia +4
Shallow cores in bright, massive galaxies are commonly thought to be the result of scouring of stars by mergers of binary supermassive black holes. Past investigations have suggest…
The Influence of Dark Matter Halos on Dynamical Estimates of Black Hole Mass: Ten New Measurements for High-sigma Early-Type Galaxies
S. P. Rusli, J. Thomas, R. P. Saglia +7
Adaptive-Optics assisted SINFONI observations of the central regions of ten early-type galaxies are presented. Based primarily on the SINFONI kinematics, ten black hole masses occu…
Molecular gas in the centre of nearby galaxies from VLT/SINFONI integral field spectroscopy - I. Morphology and mass inventory
X. Mazzalay, R. P. Saglia, Peter Erwin +7
We present the first results of an analysis of the properties of the molecular gas in the nuclear regions (r < 300 pc) of a sample of six nearby galaxies, based on new high spatial…
The central black hole mass of the high-sigma but low-bulge-luminosity lenticular galaxy NGC 1332
Stephanie P. Rusli, Jens Thomas, Peter Erwin +3
The masses of the most massive supermassive black holes (SMBHs) predicted by the M_BH-sigma and M_BH-luminosity relations appear to be in conflict. Which of the two relations is th…
