Groups with rapid decay and trivial amenable radical are C*-simple

Caleb Barnett, Joseph Gondek, Mehrdad Kalantar

We prove that every finitely generated group with rapid decay and trivial amenable radical is C*-simple.

Invariant random subgroups of $C^{*}$ -simple groups

Tattwamasi Amrutam, Mehrdad Kalantar

Let $Γ$ be a countable discrete $C^{*}$ -simple group. Let $μ$ be a $Γ$ -invariant Borel probability measure on $Sub (Γ)$ , i.e., an IRS. We show that $μ$ -almost every subgroup $H…

Stabilizer Subgroups and the Simplicity of Reduced Crossed Products

Yair Hartman, Mehrdad Kalantar

Given a minimal action $G ↷ X$ of a countable group $G$ on a compact space $X$ , we prove that if the reduced crossed product $G ⋉_{r} C (X)$ is simple, then there ex…

Conjugacy co-amenability

Mehrdad Kalantar, Srivatsav Kunnawalkam Elayavalli

In this note we study a natural analytic property of inclusions of groups akin to co-amenability: the property of existence of a non-compactly supported invariant state for the con…

Growth conditions for topological freeness

Nazmul Alam, Joseph Gondek, Mehrdad Kalantar +1

Given a finitely generated group $Γ$ , a non-trivial element $g \in Γ$ , and a minimal action $Γ ↷ X$ on a compact space $X$ , with amenable neighborh…
