The Suzaku Observation of the Nucleus of the Radio-Loud Active Galaxy Centaurus A: Constraints on Abundances of the Accreting Material
A. Markowitz, T. Takahashi, S. Watanabe +16
A Suzaku observation of the nucleus of the radio-loud AGN Centaurus A in 2005 has yielded a broadband spectrum spanning 0.3 to 250 keV. The net exposure times after screening were:…
An Observational Pursuit for Population III Stars in a Ly_alpha Emitter at z=6.33 through HeII Emission
Tohru Nagao, Kentaro Motohara, Roberto Maiolino +5
We present a very deep near-infrared spectroscopic observation of a strong Ly_alpha emitter at z=6.33, SDF J132440.6+273607, which we used to search for HeII 1640. This emission li…
The line-of-sight velocity distributions of intracluster planetary nebulae in the Virgo cluster core
Magda Arnaboldi, Ortwin Gerhard, J. Alfonso L. Aguerri +4
Radial velocities of 40 intracluster planetary nebulae (ICPNe) in the Virgo cluster were obtained with the new multi-fiber FLAMES spectrograph on UT2 at VLT. For the first time, th…
The Luminosity Function of IRAS PSCz Galaxies
Tsutomu T. Takeuchi, Kohji Yoshikawa, Takako T. Ishii
We estimated the luminosity function (LF) of IRAS galaxies in the PSCz catalogue. The faint end of the PSCz LF is slightly steeper than that of the LF derived by Saunders et al. (1…
