The VLT-FLAMES survey of massive stars: Evolution of surface N abundances and effective temperature scales in the Galaxy and Magellanic Clouds
C. Trundle, P. L. Dufton, I. Hunter +4
We present an analysis of high resolution VLT-FLAMES spectra of 61 B-type stars with relatively narrow-lined spectra located in 4 fields centered on the Milky Way clusters; NGC3293…
A new search for planet transits in NGC 6791
M. Montalto, G. Piotto, S. Desidera +12
Context. Searching for planets in open clusters allows us to study the effects of dynamical environment on planet formation and evolution. Aims. Considering the strong dependence o…
The Distance to NGC 5904 (M 5) via the Subdwarfs Main Sequence Fitting Method
Vincenzo Testa, Alessandro Chieffi, Marco Limongi +2
We present a determination of the distance modulus of the globular cluster NGC 5904 (M 5), obtained by means of the subdwarf main-sequence fitting on the (V,V-I) color-magnitude di…
The Relationship Between the Sersic Law Profiles Measured Along the Major and Minor Axes of Elliptical Galaxies
Fabricio Ferrari, Horacio Dottori, Nicola Caon +2
In this paper we discuss the reason why the parameters of the Sersic model best-fitting the major axis light profile of elliptical galaxies can differ significantly from those deri…
