Comparative study of the inial spikes of SGR giant flares in 1998 and 2004 observed with GEOTAIL: Do magnetospheric instabilities trigger large scale fracturing of magnetar's crust?
Y. T. Tanaka, T. Terasawa, N. Kawai +5
We present the unsaturated peak profile of SGR 1900+14 giant flare on 1998 August 27. This was obtained by particle counters of the Low Energy Particle instrument onboard the GEOTA…
Detection of Pulsed X-ray Emission from The Fastest Millisecond Pulsar PSR B1937+21 with ASCA
M. Takahashi
We have detected pulsed X-ray emission from the fastest millisecond pulsar known, PSR B1937+21 (P=1.558 msec), with ASCA. The pulsar is detected as a point source above …
ASCA Detection of Pulsed X-ray Emission from PSR J0631+1036
Ken'ichi Torii, Y. Saito, F. Nagase +9
ASCA's long look at the 288 millisecond radio pulsar, PSR J0631+1036, reveals coherent X-ray pulsation from this source for the first time. The source was first detected in the ser…
RXTE Absolute Timing Results for the Pulsars B1821-24 and B1509-58
A. H. Rots, K. Jahoda, D. J. Macomb +9
Observations with the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer and the Jodrell Bank, Parkes, and Green Bank telescopes have enabled us to determine the time delay between radio and X-ray pulses…
