A Spitzer Search for Water in the Transiting Exoplanet HD189733b
David Ehrenreich, Guillaume Hébrard, Alain Lecavelier Des Etangs +5
We present Spitzer Space Telescope observations of the extrasolar planet HD189733b primary transit, obtained simultaneously at 3.6 and 5.8 microns with the Infrared Array Camera. T…
Infrared Transmission Spectra for Extrasolar Giant Planets
G. Tinetti, M. C. Liang, A. Vidal-Madjar +3
Among the hot Jupiters that transit their parent stars known to date, the two best candidates to be observed with transmission spectroscopy in the mid-infrared (MIR) are HD189733b…
On the Possible Properties of Small and Cold Extrasolar Planets: Is OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb Entirely Frozen?
David Ehrenreich, Alain Lecavelier Des Etangs, Jean-Philippe Beaulieu +1
Extrasolar planets as light as a few Earths are now being detected. Such planets are likely not gas or ice giants. Here, we present a study on the possible properties of the small…
Abundances in the H I envelope of the extremely low-metallicity Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxy SBS 0335-052 from Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer observations
T. X. Thuan, A. Lecavelier des Etangs, Y. I. Izotov
We present FUSE spectroscopy of SBS 0335-052, the second most metal-deficient blue compact dwarf (BCD) galaxy known (log O/H = -4.70). In addition to the H I Lyman series, we detec…
