The Athena X-ray Integral Field Unit: a consolidated design for the system requirement review of the preliminary definition phase
Didier Barret, Vincent Albouys, Jan-Willem den Herder +296
The Athena X-ray Integral Unit (X-IFU) is the high resolution X-ray spectrometer, studied since 2015 for flying in the mid-30s on the Athena space X-ray Observatory, a versatile ob…
reXcor: A Model of the X-ray Spectrum of Active Galactic Nuclei that Combines Ionized Reflection and a Warm Corona
Xin Xiang, D. R. Ballantyne, S. Bianchi +6
The X-ray spectra of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) often exhibit an excess of emission above the primary power-law at energies <~ keV. Two models for the origin of this `soft e…
Observational properties of puffy disks: radiative GRMHD spectra of mildly sub-Eddington accretion
Maciek Wielgus, Debora Lancova, Odele Straub +7
Numerical general relativistic radiative magnetohydrodynamic simulations of accretion disks around a stellar mass black hole with a luminosity above 0.5 of the Eddington value reve…
Influence of the gravitational darkening effect on the spectrum of a hot, rapidly rotating neutron star
A. Majczyna, J. Madej, A. Różańska +1
In this paper, we discuss the influence of the gravitational darkening effect on the emergent spectrum of a fast-rotating, flattened neutron star. Model atmosphere codes always cal…
