The manifold spectra and morphologies of EROs
A. Cimatti, E. Daddi, P. Cassata +13
Deep VLT optical spectroscopy, HST+ACS (GOODS) imaging and VLA observations are used to unveil the nature of a complete sample of 47 EROs with R-Ks>5 and Ks<20. The spectroscopic r…
High-z massive galaxies in the HDF-South
P. Saracco, M. Longhetti, E. Giallongo +6
[abr] We report the analysis of three galaxies selected in the Hubble Deep Field South at Ks<22 on the basis of their unusually red near-IR color J-K>3. We have used population syn…
The evolution of the galaxy luminosity function in the rest frame blue band up to z=3.5
F. Poli, E. Giallongo, A. Fontana +14
We present an estimate of the cosmological evolution of the field galaxy luminosity function (LF) in the rest frame 4400 Angstrom B -band up to redshift z=3.5. To this purpose, we…
The K20 survey. V The evolution of the near-IR Luminosity Function
L. Pozzetti, A. Cimatti, G. Zamorani +12
We present the galaxy rest-frame near-IR Luminosity Function (LF) and its cosmic evolution to z=1.5 based on a spectroscopic survey of a magnitude limited sample of galaxies with K…
