XO-3b: A Massive Planet in an Eccentric Orbit Transiting an F5V Star
Christopher M. Johns-Krull, Peter R. McCullough, Christopher J. Burke +13
We report the discovery of a massive (Mpsini = 13.02 +/- 0.64 Mjup; total mass 13.25 +/- 0.64 Mjup), large (1.95 +/- 0.16 Rjup) planet in a transiting, eccentric orbit (e = 0.260 +…
Efficient intra- and inter-night linking of asteroid detections using kd-trees
Jeremy Kubica, Larry Denneau, Tommy Grav +7
The Panoramic Survey Telescope And Rapid Response System (Pan-STARRS) under development at the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy is creating the first fully automated…
A Transiting Planet of a Sun-like Star
P. R. McCullough, J. E. Stys, Jeff A. Valenti +11
A planet transits an 11th magnitude, G1V star in the constellation Corona Borealis. We designate the planet XO-1b, and the star, XO-1, also known as GSC 02041-01657. XO-1 lacks a t…
The XO Project: Searching for Transiting Extra-solar Planet Candidates
P. R. McCullough, J. E. Stys, J. A. Valenti +3
The XO project's first objective is to find hot Jupiters transiting bright stars, i.e. V < 12, by precision differential photometry. Two XO cameras have been operating since Septem…
