X-ray variability of NGC 2516 stars in the XMM-Newton observations
A. Marino, G. Micela, I. Pillitteri +1
We present the characteristics of the X-ray variability of stars in the cluster NGC2516 as derived from XMM-Newton/EPIC/pn data. The X-ray variations on short (hours), medium (mont…
The GALEX UV emission in shell galaxies: tracing galaxy "rejuvenation" episodes
R. Rampazzo, A. Marino, R. Tantalo +6
We present the GALEX far FUV and near NUV ultraviolet imaging of three nearby shell galaxies, namely NGC 2865, NGC 5018 and NGC 7135. The system of shells and fine structures visib…
X-ray spectral and timing characteristics of the stars in the young open cluster IC 2391
A. Marino, G. Micela, G. Peres +2
We present X-ray spectral and timing analysis of members of the young open cluster IC 2391 observed with the XMM-Newton observatory. We detected 99 X-ray sources by analysing the s…
X-ray rotational modulation of a supersaturated star in IC 2391
A. Marino, G. Micela, G. Peres +1
We present evidence of X-ray rotational modulation on VXR45, a young fast rotator star, member of IC 2391. It is a dG9 spectral type star whose rotational period and X-ray luminosi…
