Decoupling between propagating acoustic waves and two-level systems in hydrogenated amorphous silicon
M. Molina-Ruiz, H. C. Jacks, D. R. Queen +3
Specific heat measurements of hydrogenated amorphous silicon prepared by hot-wire chemical vapor deposition show a large density of two-level systems at low temperature. Annealing…
Mitigation of multipacting in 113 MHz superconducting RF photo-injector
I. Petrushina, V. N. Litvinenko, I. Pinayev +3
Superconducting RF (SRF) photo-injectors are one of the most promising devices for generating continuous wave (CW) electron beams with record high brightness. Ultra-high vacuum of…
Flux pinning and phase separation in oxygen rich La2-xSrxCuO4+y system
Hashini E. Mohottala, B. O. Wells, J. I. Budnick +3
We have studied the magnetic characteristics of a series of super-oxygenated La2-xSrxCuO4+y samples. As shown in previous work, these samples spontaneously phase separate into an o…
The nature of the close magnetic white dwarf + probable brown dwarf binary SDSS J121209.31+013627.7
M. R. Burleigh, T. R. Marsh, B. T. Gansicke +16
Optical time series photometry of the short period magnetic white dwarf + probable brown dwarf binary SDSS 121209.31+013627.7 reveals pulse-like variability in all bands from i' to…
