The Pristine survey -- XVII. The C-19 stream is dynamically hot and more extended than previously thought
Zhen Yuan, Nicolas F. Martin, Rodrigo A. Ibata +22
The C-19 stream is the most metal poor stellar system ever discovered, with a mean metallicity . Its low metallicity dispersion ( 0.18 at…
The S2 Stream: the shreds of a primitive dwarf galaxy
David S. Aguado, G. C. Myeong, Vasily Belokurov +12
The S2 stream is a kinematically cold stream that is plunging downwards through the Galactic disc. It may be part of a hotter and more diffuse structure called the Helmi stream. We…
J0023+0307: A mega metal-poor dwarf star from SDSS/BOSS
David S. Aguado, Carlos Allende Prieto, Jonay I. González Hernández +1
Only a handful of stars have been identified with an iron abundance [Fe/H]<-5, and only one at [Fe/H]<-7. These stars have very large carbon-to-iron ratios, with A(C)~7.0, most lik…
Chemical Abundances of the Secondary Star in the Black Hole X-ray Binary XTE J1118+480
Jonay I. González Hernández, Rafael Rebolo, Garik Israelian +5
Following the recent abundance measurements of Mg, Al, Ca, Fe, and Ni in the black hole X-ray binary XTE J1118+480 using medium-resolution Keck II/ESI spectra of the secondary star…
