Quantum filtering for systems driven by fermion fields
J. E. Gough, M. I. Guta, M. R. James +1
Recent developments in quantum technology mean that is it now possible to manipulate systems and measure fermion fields (e.g. reservoirs of electrons) at the quantum level. This pr…
Direct and Indirect Couplings in Coherent Feedback Control of Linear Quantum Systems
Guofeng Zhang, Matthew R. James
The purpose of this paper is to study and design direct and indirect couplings for use in coherent feedback control of a class of linear quantum stochastic systems. A general physi…
Frequency Conversion: Side-band cooling, state-swapping, and coherent control of mechanical resonators
Kurt Jacobs, Hendra I. Nurdin, Frederick W. Strauch +1
Sideband cooling is a technique that potentially allows mechanical resonators to be prepared in their ground states, important for future applications in quantum technologies. Tian…
Numerical Solution of the Dynamic Programming Equation for the Optimal Control of Quantum Spin Systems
Srinivas Sridharan, Matthew R. James
The purpose of this paper is to describe the numerical solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) for an optimal control problem for quantum spin systems. This HJB equation is a…
