Resolved Spectroscopy of the T8.5 and Y0-0.5 Binary WISEPC J121756.91+162640.2AB
S. K. Leggett, Michael C. Liu, Trent J. Dupuy +3
We present 0.9 - 2.5 um resolved spectra for the ultracool binary WISEPC J121756.91+162640.2AB. The system consists of a pair of brown dwarfs that straddles the currently defined T…
A deep WISE search for very late type objects and the discovery of two halo/thick-disk T dwarfs: WISE 0013+0634 and WISE 0833+0052
D. J. Pinfield, J. Gomes, A. C. Day-Jones +21
A method is defined for identifying late T and Y dwarfs in WISE down to low values of signal-to-noise. This requires a WISE detection only in the W2-band and uses the statistical p…
NPARSEC: NTT Parallaxes of Southern Extremely Cool objects. Goals, targets, procedures and first results
R. L. Smart, C. G. Tinney, B. Bucciarelli +21
The discovery and subsequent detailed study of T dwarfs has provided many surprises and pushed the physics and modeling of cool atmospheres in unpredicted directions. Distance is a…
Seventy six T dwarfs from the UKIDSS LAS: benchmarks, kinematics and an updated space density
Ben Burningham, C. V. Cardoso, L. Smith +34
We report the discovery of 76 new T dwarfs from the UKIDSS Large Area Survey (LAS). Near-infrared broad and narrow-band photometry and spectroscopy are presented for the new object…
