A Hubble Space Telescope transit light curve for GJ436b
J. L. Bean, G. F. Benedict, D. Charbonneau +6
We present time series photometry for six partial transits of GJ436b obtained with the Fine Guidance Sensor instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Our analysis of these da…
Detection of a Third Planet in the HD 74156 System Using the Hobby-Eberly Telescope
Jacob L. Bean, Barbara E. McArthur, G. Fritz Benedict +1
We report the discovery of a third planetary mass companion to the G0 star HD 74156. High precision radial velocity measurements made with the Hobby-Eberly Telescope aided the dete…
Hubble Space Telescope Fine Guidance Sensor Parallaxes of Galactic Cepheid Variable Stars: Period-Luminosity Relations
G. Fritz Benedict, Barbara E. McArthur, Michael W. Feast +6
(abridged) We present new absolute trigonometric parallaxes and relative proper motions for nine Galactic Cepheid variable stars: l Car, zeta Gem, beta Dor, W Sgr, X Sgr, Y Sgr, FF…
Metallicities of M Dwarf Planet Hosts from Spectral Synthesis
Jacob L. Bean, G. Fritz Benedict, Michael Endl
We present the first spectroscopic metallicities of three M dwarfs with known or candidate planetary mass companions. We have analyzed high resolution, high signal-to-noise spectra…
