Detection of period variations in extrasolar transiting planet OGLE-TR-111b
Rodrigo F. Díaz, Patricio Rojo, Mario Melita +4
Two consecutive transits of planetary companion OGLE-TR-111b were observed in the I band. Combining these observations with data from the literature, we find that the timing of the…
The Globular Cluster System of NGC 1399: III. VLT Spectroscopy and Database
B. Dirsch, T. Richtler, D. Geisler +9
Radial velocities of 468 globular clusters around NGC 1399, the central galaxy in the Fornax cluster, have been obtained with FORS2 and the Mask Exchange Unit (MXU) at the ESO Very…
Hubble Space Telescope Observations of cD Galaxies and their Globular Cluster Systems
Andres Jordan, Patrick Cote, Michael J. West +3
We have used WFPC2 on the Hubble Space Telescope to obtain F450W and F814W images of four cD galaxies (NGC 541 in Abell 194, NGC 2832 in Abell 779, NGC 4839 in Abell 1656 and NGC 7…
Are the hosts of Gamma-Ray Bursts sub-luminous and blue galaxies?
E. Le Floc'h, P. -A. Duc, I. F. Mirabel +11
We present K-band imaging observations of ten Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB) host galaxies. We compare their observed and absolute K magnitudes as well as their R-K colours with those of ot…
