Echelle long-slit optical spectroscopy of evolved stars
C. Sanchez Contreras, R. Sahai, A. Gil de Paz +1
We present echelle long-slit optical spectra of a sample of objects evolving off the AGB, most of them in the pre-planetary nebula (pPN) phase, obtained with the ESI and MIKE spect…
The fate of spiral galaxies in clusters: the star formation history of the anemic Virgo cluster galaxy NGC 4569
A. Boselli, S. Boissier, L. Cortese +5
We present a new method for studying the star formation history of late-type, cluster galaxies undergoing gas starvation or a ram-pressure stripping event by combining bidimensiona…
The GALEX Ultraviolet Atlas of Nearby Galaxies
A. Gil de Paz, S. Boissier, B. F. Madore +23
We present images, integrated photometry, surface-brightness and color profiles for a total of 1034 nearby galaxies recently observed by the GALEX satellite in its far-ultraviolet…
Star formation in the nearby universe: the ultraviolet and infrared points of view
J. Iglesias-Paramo, V. Buat, T. T. Takeuchi +27
This work presents the main ultraviolet (UV) and far-infrared (FIR) properties of two samples of nearby galaxies selected from the GALEX (Å, hereafter NUV) and IRAS ($λ= 6…
