Ultrafast, low-energy, all-optical switch in polariton waveguides
D. G. Suárez-Forero, F. Riminucci, V. Ardizzone +8
The requirement for optical-electrical-optical conversion of signals in optical technologies is often one of the majors bottleneck in terms of speed and energy consumption. The use…
Energy-efficient neural network inference with microcavity exciton-polaritons
M. Matuszewski, A. Opala, R. Mirek +8
We propose all-optical neural networks characterized by very high energy efficiency and performance density of inference. We argue that the use of microcavity exciton-polaritons al…
Shaping the topology of light with a moving Rabi-oscillating vortex
Lorenzo Dominici, Nina Voronova, David Colas +8
Quantum vortices are the analogue of classical vortices in optics, Bose-Einstein condensates, superfluids and superconductors, where they provide the elementary mode of rotation an…
Polariton Bose-Einstein condensate from a Bound State in the Continuum
V. Ardizzone, F. Riminucci, S. Zanotti +13
Optical bound states in the continuum (BIC) are peculiar topological states that, when realized in a planar photonic crystal lattice, are symmetry-protected from radiating in the f…
