Simultaneous Multiwavelength Observations of Markarian 421 During Outburst
The VERITAS Collaboration, I. de la Calle Perez, A. Ibarra +2
We report on the results of two coordinated multiwavelength campaigns that focused on the blazar Markarian 421 during its 2006 and 2008 outbursts. These campaigns obtained UV and X…
First bounds on the VHE gamma-ray emission from isolated Wolf-Rayet binary systems
Diego F. Torres, Javier Rico, Vincenzo Vitale
Different theoretical models predict VHE gamma-ray emission to arise in tight binary star systems (high mass-loss and high wind speeds), which has not been confirmed experimentally…
The June 2008 flare of Markarian 421 from optical to TeV energies
R. M. Wagner, I. Donnarumma, J. Grube +6
We present optical to very-high energy (VHE) gamma-ray observations of Mrk 421 between 2008 May 24 and June 23. A high-energy (HE) gamma-ray signal was detected by AGILE-GRID durin…
