A Catalog of X-ray Point Sources from Two Megaseconds of Chandra Observations of the Galactic Center
M. P. Muno, F. E. Bauer, F. K. Baganoff +23
We present a catalog of 9017 X-ray sources identified in Chandra observations of a 2 by 0.8 degree field around the Galactic center. We increase the number of known X-ray sources i…
Discovery of Variable Iron Fluorescence from Reflection Nebulae in the Galactic Center
M. P. Muno, F. K. Baganoff, W. N. Brandt +2
Based on three years of deep observations of the Galactic center with the Chandra X-ray Observatory, we report the discovery of changes in the intensities and morphologies of two h…
Supernova Remnant 1987A: Opening the Future by Reaching the Past
Sangwook Park, Svetozar A. Zhekov, David N. Burrows +1
We report an up-turn in the soft X-ray light curve of supernova remnant (SNR) 1987A in late 2003 (~6200 days after the explosion), as observed with the Chandra X-ray Observatory. S…
Chandra Observations of Shock Kinematics in Supernova Remnant 1987A
S. A. Zhekov, R. McCray, K. J. Borkowski +2
We report the first results from deep X-ray observations of the SNR 1987A with the Chandra LETG. Temperatures inferred from line ratios range from 0.1 - 2 keV and increase with ion…
