Lupus I Observations from the 2010 Flight of the Balloon-borne Large Aperture Submillimeter Telescope for Polarimetry
Tristan G. Matthews, Peter A. R. Ade, Francesco E. Angilè +29
The Balloon-borne Large Aperture Submillimeter Telescope for Polarimetry (BLASTPol) was created by adding polarimetric capability to the BLAST experiment that was flown in 2003, 20…
The Submillimeter Polarization Spectrum of M17
Lingzhen Zeng, Charles L. Bennett, Nicholas L. Chapman +4
We present 450 μm polarimetric observations of the M17 molecular cloud obtained with the SHARP polarimeter at the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory. Across the observed region, the…
Alignment Between Flattened Protostellar Infall Envelopes and Ambient Magnetic Fields
Nicholas L. Chapman, Jacqueline A. Davidson, Paul F. Goldsmith +10
We present 350 micron polarization observations of four low-mass cores containing Class 0 protostars: L483, L1157, L1448-IRS2, and Serp-FIR1. This is the second paper in a larger s…
The Luminosities of Protostars in the Spitzer c2d and Gould Belt Legacy Clouds
Michael M. Dunham, Hector G. Arce, Lori E. Allen +14
Motivated by the long-standing "luminosity problem" in low-mass star formation whereby protostars are underluminous compared to theoretical expectations, we identify 230 protostars…
