Stellar populations of quasar host galaxies with MFICA decomposition
Sahyadri Devidatt Krishna, Vivienne Wild, Paul C. Hewett +1
Galaxy evolution theories require co-evolution between accreting supermassive black holes (SMBH) and galaxies to explain many properties of the local galaxy population, yet observa…
Characterizing the roles of transitory obscured phases and inner torus in shaping the fractions of obscured AGN at cosmic noon
Alba V. Alonso-Tetilla, Francesco Shankar, Fabio Fontanot +11
The origin of obscuration in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) is still a matter of contention. It is unclear whether obscured AGN are primarily due to line-of-sight effects, a transito…
Echo mapping of the black hole accretion flow in NGC 7469
Raj Prince, Juan V. Hernández Santisteban, Keith Horne +20
Reverberation mapping (RM) can measure black hole accretion disc sizes and radial structure through observed time lags that should increase with wavelength as . Ou…
An obscured quasar census with the 4MOST IR AGN survey: design, predicted properties, and scientific goals
Carolina Andonie, David M. Alexander, Claire Greenwell +11
We present the 4MOST IR AGN survey, the first large-scale optical spectroscopic survey characterizing mid-infrared (MIR) selected obscured active galactic nuclei (AGN). The survey…
