Real-time measurements of dissipative solitons in a mode-locked fiber laser
P. Ryczkowski, M. Närhi, C. Billet +3
Dissipative solitons are remarkable localized states of a physical system that arise from the dynamical balance between nonlinearity, dispersion and environmental energy exchange.…
Sending femtosecond pulses in circles: highly non-paraxial accelerating beams
F. Courvoisier, A. Mathis, L. Froehly +5
We use caustic beam shaping on 100 fs pulses to experimentally generate non-paraxial accelerating beams along a 60 degree circular arc, moving laterally by 14 \mum over a 28 \mum p…
Modulation instability, Akhmediev Breathers and continuous wave supercontinuum generation
J. M. Dudley, G. Genty, F. Dias +2
Numerical simulations of the onset phase of continuous wave supercontinuum generation from modulation instability show that the structure of the field as it develops can be interpr…
Modulation control and spectral shaping of optical fiber supercontinuum generation in the picosecond regime
G. Genty, J. M. Dudley, B. J. Eggleton
Numerical simulations are used to study how fiber supercontinuum generation seeded by picosecond pulses can be actively controlled through the use of input pulse modulation. By car…
