GRB 080913 at redshift 6.7
J. Greiner, T. Kruehler, J. P. U. Fynbo +44
We report on the detection by Swift of GRB 080913, and subsequent optical/near-infrared follow-up observations by GROND which led to the discovery of its optical/NIR afterglow and…
High redshift quasars in the COSMOS survey: the space density of z>3 X-ray selected QSOs
M. Brusa, A. Comastri, R. Gilli +19
We present a new measurement of the space density of high redshift (3.0<z<4.5), X-ray selected QSOs obtained by exploiting the deep and uniform multiwavelength coverage of the COSM…
Evolution of tidal disruption candidates discovered by XMM-Newton
P. Esquej, R. D. Saxton, S. Komossa +8
It has been demonstrated that active galactic nuclei are powered by gas accretion onto supermassive black holes located at their centres. The paradigm that the nuclei of inactive g…
The VLA Survey of the Chandra Deep Field South. II. Identification and host galaxy properties of submillijansky sources
V. Mainieri, K. I. Kellermann, E. B. Fomalont +10
We present the optical and infrared identifications of the 266 radio sources detected at 20 cm with the Very Large Array in the Chandra Deep Field South (Kellermann et al. 2008). U…
