HCN(1-0) enhancement in the bar of NGC 2903
S. Leon, S. Jeyakumar, D. Perez-Ramirez +3
We have mapped the \hcn emission from two spiral galaxies, NGC2903 and NGC3504 to study the gas properties in the bars. The HCN(1-0) emission is detected in the center and along th…
Nuclear starburst-driven evolution of the central region in NGC 6764
S. Leon, A. Eckart, S. Laine +6
We study the CO and the radiocontinuum emission in an active galaxy to analyze the interplay between the central activity and the molecular gas. We present new high-resolution obse…
NGC 5775: anatomy of a disk-halo interface
S. -W. Lee, J. A. Irwin, R. -J. Dettmar +3
We present the first high-resolution study of the disk-halo interface in an edge-on galaxy (NGC 5775) in which every component of the interstellar medium is represented and resolve…
Molecular Gas and the Modest Star Formation Efficiency in the ``Antennae'' Galaxies: Arp~244=NGC 4038/39
Yu Gao, K. Y. Lo, S. -W. Lee +1
(abridged) We report here a factor of 5.7 higher total CO flux in Arp~244 (the ``Antennae'' galaxies) than that previously accepted in the literature (thus a total molecular gas ma…
