Formation of the first nuclear clusters and massive black holes at high redshift
Bernadetta Devecchi, Marta Volonteri
We present a model for the formation of massive black holes ($\sim 1000 \msun$) due to stellar-dynamical processes in the first stellar clusters formed at early cosmic times ($z\si…
Imprints of recoiling massive black-holes on the hot gas of early type galaxies
B. Devecchi, E. Rasia, M. Dotti +2
Anisotropic gravitational radiation from a coalescing black hole binary is known to impart recoil velocities of up to ~1000 km/s to the remnant black hole. In this context, we stud…
Millisecond pulsars around intermediate-mass black holes in globular clusters
B. Devecchi, M. Colpi, M. Mapelli +1
We study the process of dynamical capture of a millisecond pulsar (MSP) by a single or binary IMBH, simulating various types of single-binary and binary-binary encounters. It is fo…
The dynamical fingerprint of intermediate mass black holes in globular clusters
M. Colpi, B. Devecchi, M. Mapelli +2
A number of observations hints for the presence of an intermediate mass black hole (IMBH) in the core of three globular clusters: M15 and NGC 6752 in the Milky Way, and G1, in M31.…
