Photometric selection of high-redshift type Ia supernovae
M. Sullivan, D. A. Howell, K. Perrett +26
We present a method for selecting high-redshift type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) located via rolling SN searches. The technique, using both color and magnitude information of events fro…
The Supernova Legacy Survey: Measurement of Omega_M, Omega_Lambda and w from the First Year Data Set
P. Astier, J. Guy, N. Regnault +39
We present distance measurements to 71 high redshift type Ia supernovae discovered during the first year of the 5-year Supernova Legacy Survey (SNLS). These events were detected an…
Gemini Spectroscopy of Supernovae from SNLS: Improving High Redshift SN Selection and Classification
D. A. Howell, M. Sullivan, K. Perrett +22
We present new techiques for improving the efficiency of supernova (SN) classification at high redshift using 64 candidates observed at Gemini North and South during the first year…
SALT: a Spectral Adaptive Light curve Template for Type Ia Supernovae
J. Guy, P. Astier, S. Nobili +2
We present a new method to parameterize Type Ia Supernovae (SN Ia) multi-color light curves. The method was developed in order to analyze the large number of SN Ia multi-color ligh…
