Drastic changes in the molecular absorption at redshift z=0.89 toward the quasar PKS 1830-211
Sebastien Muller, Michel Guelin
A 12 year-long monitoring of the absorption caused by a z=0.89 spiral galaxy on the line of sight to the radio-loud gravitationally lensed quasar PKS 1830-211 reveals spectacular c…
Distribution and kinematics of the HCN(3-2) emission down to the innermost region in the envelope of the O-rich star W Hya
Muller Sebastien, Dinh-V-Trung, He Jin-Hua +1
We report high angular resolution observations of the HCN (3-2) line emission in the circumstellar envelope of the O-rich star W Hya with the Submillimeter Array. The proximity of…
Strong Limit on a Variable Proton-to-Electron Mass Ratio from Molecules in the Distant Universe
Michael T. Murphy, Victor V. Flambaum, Sebastien Muller +1
The Standard Model of particle physics assumes that the so-called fundamental constants are universal and unchanging. Absorption lines arising in molecular clouds along quasar sigh…
Searching for dust in the intracluster medium from reddening of background galaxies
Sebastien Muller, Szu-Ying Wu, Bau-Ching Hsieh +4
We report a search for the presence of dust in the intra-cluster medium based on the study of statistical reddening of background galaxies. Armed with the Red Sequence Cluster surv…
