Kinematics of the old stellar population at the Galactic Center
S. Trippe, S. Gillessen, O. E. Gerhard +8
We aim at a detailed description of the kinematic properties of the old, (several Gyrs) late-type CO-absorption star population among the Galactic centre (GC) cluster stars. We app…
Dark matter content and internal dynamics of NGC 4697: NMAGIC particle models from slit data and planetary nebulae velocities
Flavio De Lorenzi, Ortwin Gerhard, Roberto P. Saglia +4
We present a dynamical study of NGC 4697, an almost edge-on, intermediate-luminosity, E4 elliptical galaxy, combining new surface brightness photometry, new as well as published lo…
A polarised infrared flare from Sagittarius A* and the signatures of orbiting plasma hotspots
S. Trippe, T. Paumard, T. Ott +4
In this article we summarise and discuss the infrared, radio, and X-ray emission from the supermassive black hole in the Galactic Centre, SgrA*. We include new results from near-in…
GCIRS34W: An irregular variable in the Galactic Centre
S. Trippe, F. Martins, T. Ott +7
We report the results of time-resolved photometric and spectroscopic near-infrared observations of the Ofpe/WN9 star and LBV candidate GCIRS34W in the Galactic Centre star cluster.…
