H, He-like recombination spectra VI: Quadrupole -changing collisions
E. Deliporanidou, N. R. Badnell, P. J. Storey +2
We have developed a simple analytic formula that well describes quadrupole -changing collisions of the form , as confirmed by comparison with numerical quant…
UK APAP R-matrix electron-impact excitation cross-sections for modelling laboratory and astrophysical plasma
G. Del Zanna, G. Liang, J. Mao +1
Systematic R-matrix calculations of electron-impact excitation for ions of astrophysical interest have been performed since 2007 for many iso-electronic sequences as part of the UK…
Testing strong-field QED to second-order in the highly correlated atomic system berylliumlike Pb78+ by electron-ion recombination spectroscopy
S. Schippers, C. Brandau, S. Fuchs +33
A low-energy storage ring with an ultracold electron cooler has been coupled with a heavy-ion accelerator facilitating high-resolution electron-ion collision spectroscopy of the he…
Nebular spectra of kilonovae with detailed recombination rates -- I. Light r-process composition
Smaranika Banerjee, Anders Jerkstrand, Nigel Badnell +3
To investigate spectra of kilonovae in the NLTE phase (t>= 1 week), we perform atomic calculations for dielectronic recombination (DR) rates for the light r-process elements Se (Z…
