Molecular gas and star formation in the red-sequence counter-rotating disc galaxy NGC 4550
Alison F. Crocker, Hyunjin Jeong, Shinya Komugi +4
We present observations of the CO(1-0) emission in the central 750 pc (10 arcsec) of the counter-rotating disc galaxy NGC 4550, obtained at the Institut de Radioastronomie Millimet…
Discovery of a Jupiter/Saturn Analog with Gravitational Microlensing
B. S. Gaudi, D. P. Bennett, A. Udalski +66
Searches for extrasolar planets have uncovered an astonishing diversity of planetary systems, yet the frequency of solar system analogs remains unknown. The gravitational microlens…
The molecular polar disc in NGC 2768
Alison F. Crocker, Martin Bureau, Lisa M. Young +1
We present CO(1-0) and CO(2-1) maps of the molecular polar disc in the elliptical galaxy NGC 2768 obtained at the IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer. The maps have a resolution of…
Disk Growth in Bulge-Dominated Galaxies: Molecular Gas and Morphological Evolution
Lisa Young, Martin Bureau, Alison Crocker +1
Substantial numbers of morphologically regular early-type (elliptical and lenticular) galaxies contain molecular gas, and the quantities of gas are probably sufficient to explain r…
