Detecting transiting exoplanets in simulated PLATO data: A comparison of light curve filter and transit search algorithms
Geert Jan Talens, Leigh C. Smith, Luca Malavolta +3
Aims: Our goal is to test and compare transit search methodologies, and provide recommendations as to the best practices to be implemented by the upcoming ESA PLATO mission, in ord…
Spectroscopic Monitoring of Metal Lines in Polluted White Dwarfs
Laura K. Rogers, Michael M. Shara, Amy Bonsor +12
The disruption and accretion of planetary material onto white dwarfs is expected to be inherently dynamic and stochastic, potentially driving variability in the accretion rate and…
Can giant impacts be directly detected in other star systems?
Pavan Tanna, Simon Lock, Amy Bonsor +2
Giant impacts, collisions between planet-sized bodies, play an important role in planet and moon formation. As we enter a new era of large-scale surveys, such as \textit{Gaia} and…
Assessment of PLATO Science Performance
Juan Cabrera, Heike Rauer, Reza Samadi +121
The PLATO mission is scheduled for launch early 2027. In this paper we present an overview of the performance drivers for the mission at the time where all flight models of the cam…
