Directional Training and Fast Sector-based Processing Schemes for mmWave Channels
Zheda Li, Nadisanka Rupasinghe, Ozgun Y. Bursalioglu +3
We consider a single-cell scenario involving a single base station (BS) with a massive array serving multi-antenna terminals in the downlink of a mmWave channel. We present a class…
5G 3GPP-like Channel Models for Outdoor Urban Microcellular and Macrocellular Environments
Katsuyuki Haneda, Lei Tian, Yi Zheng +26
For the development of new 5G systems to operate in bands up to 100 GHz, there is a need for accurate radio propagation models at these bands that currently are not addressed by ex…
Compressed Sensing-based Pilot Assignment and Reuse for Mobile UEs in mmWave Cellular Systems
Weng Chon Ao, Chenwei Wang, Ozgun Y. Bursalioglu +1
Technologies for mmWave communication are at the forefront of investigations in both industry and academia, as the mmWave band offers the promise of orders of magnitude additional…
RRH based Massive MIMO with "on the Fly" Pilot Contamination Control
Ozgun Y. Bursalioglu, Chenwei Wang, Haralabos Papadopoulos +1
Dense large-scale antenna deployments are one of the most promising technologies for delivering very large throughputs per unit area in the downlink (DL) of cellular networks. We c…
