Angular surface solitons in sectorial hexagonal arrays
A. Szameit, Y. V. Kartashov, V. A. Vysloukh +7
We report on the experimental observation of corner surface solitons localized at the edges joining planar interfaces of hexagonal waveguide array with uniform nonlinear medium. Th…
Observation of surface solitons in chirped waveguide arrays
A. Szameit, Yaroslav V. Kartashov, F. Dreisow +6
We report the observation of surface solitons in chirped semi-infinite waveguide arrays whose waveguides exhibit exponentially decreasing refractive indices. We show that the power…
Observation of two-dimensional lattice interface solitons
A. Szameit, Y. V. Kartashov, F. Dreisow +7
We report on the experimental observation of two-dimensional solitons at the interface between square and hexagonal waveguide arrays. In addition to the different symmetry of the l…
Diffraction-managed solitons and nonlinear beam diffusion in modulated arrays of optical waveguides
Alexander Szameit, Ivan L. Garanovich, Matthias Heinrich +10
We study propagation of light in nonlinear diffraction-managed photonic lattices created with arrays of periodically-curved coupled optical waveguides which were fabricated using f…
