Low Energy Backgrounds and Excess Noise in a Two-Channel Low-Threshold Calorimeter
Robin Anthony-Petersen, Clarence L. Chang, Yen-Yung Chang +29
We describe observations of low energy excess (LEE) events, background events observed in all light dark matter direct detection calorimeters, and noise in a Transition Edge Sensor…
A Transition Edge Sensor Operated in Coincidence with a High Sensitivity Athermal Phonon Sensor for Photon Coupled Rare Event Searches
Roger K. Romani, Yen-Yung Chang, Rupak Mahapatra +6
Experimental searches for axions or dark photons that couple to the standard model photon require photosensors with low noise, broadband sensitivity, and near zero backgrounds. Her…
Measurement of Low Energy Nuclear Recoil Events with the phonon-mediated Voltage-Assisted Hybrid Detector for Rare Event Searches
Sandro Maludze, Mahdi Mirzakhani, William Baker +7
The phonon-mediated hybrid detector is made out of a monolithic silicon crystal characterized by two interconnected regions linked through a narrow neck. Operating solely on phonon…
Exploring Charge Transport Dynamics in a Cryogenic P-Type Germanium Detector
P. Acharya, M. Fritts, D. -M. Mei +3
This study explores the dynamics of charge transport within a cryogenic P-type Ge particle detector, fabricated from a crystal cultivated at the University of South Dakota (USD). B…
