Closing the realism gap in physics-based gait simulations with a learned state prior
Markus Gambietz, Zhihao Zhao, Theodoros Balougias +2
Predictive simulation of human movement is a promising tool for studying ``what-if'' scenarios in human movement and its underlying motor control, yet its realism is often limited.…
Learning Biomechanically Plausible Human Motion from Sparse Radar Point Clouds
Jonas Leo Mueller, Markus Gambietz, Alexander Weiss +2
Radar-based human pose estimation has focused on improving learning algorithms while representing the body as unconstrained keypoint coordinates. We address the underexplored dimen…
SSPINNpose: A Self-Supervised PINN for Inertial Pose and Dynamics Estimation
Markus Gambietz, Eva Dorschky, Altan Akat +3
Accurate real-time estimation of human movement dynamics, including internal joint moments and muscle forces, is essential for applications in clinical diagnostics and sports perfo…
Contributing Components of Metabolic Energy Models to Metabolic Cost Estimations in Gait
Markus Gambietz, Marlies Nitschke, Jörg Miehling +1
Objective: As metabolic cost is a primary factor influencing humans' gait, we want to deepen our understanding of metabolic energy expenditure models. Therefore, this paper identif…
