Combining Rubin and Roman photometry and its implications for photometric redshift estimation
Tae-hyeon Shin, Rachel Mandelbaum, Chun-Hao To +14
We perform a joint Roman--Rubin photometry analysis using the LSST Science Pipelines (LSP) on simulated images, by using the Roman F158 band as the reference band and applying forc…
PSFSim: PhySics First Simulations for the Point Spread Function of the Roman Space Telescope
Nihar Dalal, Chris Hirata, Charuhas Shiveshwarkar +6
We present a new tool for generating simulated point spread functions (PSFs) in the Wide Field Instrument (WFI) of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. The simulation tool is phy…
Robust Photometry for Roman High-Latitude Imaging Survey Cosmology Using Roman and Rubin Imaging
Chun-Hao To, Tae-Hyeon Shin, Chihway Chang +18
Accurate and precise photometry is essential for Roman cosmology because it affects photometric-redshift performance, galaxy and cluster selection, tomographic binning, and redshif…
Modeling the impact of filter-substrate refraction in the Roman point spread function
Federico Berlfein, Rachel Mandelbaum, Tianqing Zhang +4
For broadband imaging surveys, filter-substrate refraction causes light at different wavelengths to follow slightly different paths through the filter substrate before reaching the…
