Aspherical -pairs
James F. Davis, J. A Hillman
This is the third of three related preprints. We consider here which groups and -complexes are realised by -pairs with aspherical and ,…
Characteristic tensors for almost Finsler manifolds
James F. Davis, Benjamin R. Edwards, Alan Kostelecky
Almost Finsler manifolds and partial Finsler manifolds are introduced, extending the standard definition of a Finsler manifold to allow for a nontrivial slit containing points fixe…
Aspherical 4-manifolds with elementary amenable fundamental group
James F. Davis, J. A. Hillman
We classify the possible elementary amenable fundamental groups of compact aspherical 4-manifolds with boundary and conclude that they are either polycyclic or solvable Baumslag- S…
Aspherical manifolds with boundary
James F. Davis, J. A. Hillman
We undertake a systematic investigation of compact aspherical manifolds with boundary; motivated by the plethora of examples in the bounded case and by the beauty of the theory in…
Manifolds homotopy equivalent to certain torus bundles over lens spaces
James F. Davis, Wolfgang Lueck
We compute the topological simple structure set of closed manifolds which occur as total spaces of flat bundles over lens spaces S^l/(Z/p) with fiber an n-dimensjional torus T^n fo…
