Nuclear Bar Catalyzed Star Formation: 13^CO, C18^O and Molecular Gas Properties in the Nucleus of Maffei 2
David S. Meier, Jean L. Turner, Robert. L. Hurt
(Abridged) We present resolution maps of CO, its isotopologues, and HCN from in the center of Maffei 2. The J=1-0 rotational lines of 12^CO, 13^CO, C18^O and HCN, and the J=2-1 lin…
Chemical Complexity in Galaxies
Jean L. Turner, David S. Meier
ALMA will be able to detect a broad spectrum of molecular lines in galaxies. Current aperture synthesis observations indicate that the molecular line emission from galaxies is rema…
The Extraordinary Infrared Spectrum of NGC 1222 (Mkn 603)
Sara C. Beck, Jean L. Turner, Jenna Kloosterman
The infrared spectra of starburst galaxies are dominated by the low-excitation lines of [NeII] and [SIII], and the stellar populations deduced from these spectra appear to lack sta…
VLA H53alpha observations of the central region of the Super Star Cluster Galaxy NGC 5253
C. A. Rodriguez-Rico, W. M. Goss, J. L. Turner +1
We present observations in the H53alpha line and radio continuum at 43 GHz carried out with the VLA in the D array (2'' angular resolution) toward the starburst galaxy NGC 5253. VL…
