The faint neutron star soft X-ray transient SAX J1810.8-2609 in quiescence
P. G. Jonker, R. Wijnands, M. van der Klis
We present the analysis of a 35 ksec long Chandra observation of the neutron star soft X-ray transient (SXT) SAX J1810.8-2609. We detect three sources in the field of view. The pos…
Chandra Detections of Two Quiescent Black Hole X-Ray Transients
John A. Tomsick, Stephane Corbel, Rob Fender +6
Using the Chandra X-ray Observatory, we have detected the black hole transients V4641 Sgr and XTE J1859+226 in their low luminosity, quiescent states. The 0.3-8 keV luminosities ar…
Extended Emission from Cygnus X-3 Detected with Chandra
W. A. Heindl, J. A. Tomsick, R. Wijnands +1
We have discovered extended X-ray emission from the microquasar Cyg X-3 in archival Chandra X-ray Observatory observations. A 5" wide structure lies approximately 16" to the NE fro…
Chandra observations of the neutron star soft X-ray transient RXJ170930.2-263927 returning to quiescence
P. G. Jonker, M. Mendez, G. Nelemans +2
We present our analysis of Chandra observations obtained when the soft X-ray transient RX J170930.2-263927 (XTE J1709-267) returned to quiescence after an outburst. Using the type…
