Transient Triggering Grid-Forming Synchronization Control Under Voltage and Frequency Dips
Dewan Mahnaaz Mahmud, Vinu Thomas, Bogdan Marinescu +1
Grid-forming (GFM) inverters are gaining attention as a promising alternative for conventional synchronous generators in the modern power systems. Unlike conventional synchronous g…
Model-Free Control for Multi-Time Scale Dynamics of Grid-Connected Power Converters
Dewan Mahnaaz Mahmud, Vinu Thomas, Bogdan Marinescu
Controller synthesis in power electronics-based systems depends predominantly on the mathematical model of the system, which is a limitation when the actual system is complex and t…
Critical Clearing Time Enhancement of Droop-Controlled Grid-Forming Inverters with Adaptive Function-Based Parameters
Dewan Mahnaaz Mahmud, Vinu Thomas, Bogdan Marinescu +1
With the increasing penetration of renewable energy sources, grid-forming (GFM) inverters are becoming essential for voltage and frequency regulation. However, the transient stabil…
State Anti-windup: A New Methodology for Tackling State Constraints at Both Synthesis and Implementation Levels
Amir H. Abolmasoumi, Bogdan Marinescu
The anti-windup compensation typically addresses strict control limitations in control systems. However, there is a clear need for an equivalent solution for the states/outputs of…
